His example inspired Italian artists and poets to take pleasure in the world around them. His own daughter Jessica had run away and had also stolen all of his precious jewels, and he had done nothing to deserve this. To an audience in Shakespeares time this would look completely normally, they would not understand how upset Shylock probably was, but to a modern audience we can see that he is a victim of society, and there was nothing he could have done to prevent it from happening. The only thing he could do was take revenge from his bond, in my opinion this does not make him a villain because personally I think most people would want revenge on something or anything if that much had happened to them, as it is human nature. This all shows that in the end Shylock was the Victim, and that the society he lived in was the villain towards him, and other Jews. So to summarize in my opinion I believe that shylock was a victim and a villain of the society he lived in, he was a victim due to the fact that he was a minority amongst Christians, and during his time there was a lot of racism against him and his religion, I also believe that Shylock was a villain in some ways because the society had driven him to be villainess meaning that because he was treated so badly, that every time he could get his own revenge back against the Christians he did try to do that, making it look like he is the villain to a Shakespearean audience.

Most of this land was purchased in 1951. What made Levittown different from every other area being built during the same time was that it was built as a whole community. Levittown utilized mass productions technique in order to achieve the task of building inexpensive houses in the suburban area of New York in order to take away the postwar (World War II) housing shortage. There were also plenty of jobs in Levittown such as General Motors and US steel Fairless Works for people looking to find work after the war. This then led to diverse communities and homes for lower- middle class families. Levittown is significant because it was symbolic of the nations big change into suburban living and a suburban culture. It was a reversal of the urbanization process. All these new suburban-like communities were rising in the Sunbelt states as well, especially for people who were about to retire. As re-election started to get closer and closer, McCarthy who wasnt so lucky during his first term was trying to think of ways he could make sure his political success was in the bag. So McCarthy consulted a fellow anti-communist named Edmund Walsh and decided to take advantage of the nations wave of terror against communism. They came together with a list of possible communists living within the United States and demanded an investigation for each of them. The bad thing wasnt the investigations. The bad thing was the fact that not all of them were even communists to begin with. Some were simply just alcoholics or sexual deviants. This is very similar to the Salem Witch Trials except this fear of communism was called McCarthyism. McCarthy went on to accuse several innocent people even though his evidence was not so great. McCarthyism began to fall apart when he started to investigate communism within the military. This was it for Eisenhower and he decided finally that McCarthy needed to be stopped now. People also helped the effort and sent information about McCarthy and advisors abusing his congressional privileges to known critics of McCarthy. They published unflattering articles about McCarthy and his methods. The nation soon saw how bad McCarthy was and he lost his position as chairmanship on the Government Committee on Operation of the Senate.

And as a guideline on paragraph length, this is fine for most documents. However, paragraph length also depends on the type of writing. Some paragraphs may be a single sentence. Some may spread across more than one page. In this blog post, for example, most of the paragraphs are under 100 words because shorter paragraphs are easy to read on screen. But the paragraphs in an academic textbook would be longer to offer more depth. As such, you should tailor your paragraphs to suit the document and the subject matter. Is Digital Cash Something To Fear? I. INTRODUCTION In today's society, cash is quickly becoming obsolete. The vast majority of transactions can now be completed without cash. If a person has direct deposit, they can directly deposit their paycheck into their bank account. Using their home computer, that person can pay their monthly bills electronically by using a third-party bill paying system authorized by their bank. Credit cards, once reserved for major purchases, are now accepted at grocery stores, fast food restaurants, pay phones, and coffee shops. Debit cards are quickly replacing checks for many of our day-to-day purchases. There are quite a few transactions that cannot be completed with cash, including renting cars, many mail order purchases, and subscribing to an Internet service provider. In a typical day, cash is really only necessary for very small transactions, such as purchasing a morning paper, or buying a candy bar out of a vending machine. These "micro-transactions"{1} do not represent a significant enough exchange of value to cover the transactional costs of accepting credit or debit cards. A person still needs to carry enough cash for these micro-transactions. Currently, the way to get cash is to personally go to an automatic teller machine (ATM) for a withdrawal. I read the article â€Å"Is Scientific Progress Inevitable?† which was written by Andrew Irvine on 2006. It was published in the book In the Agora: The Public Face of Canadian Philosophy. Mapplewood’s charter considers Kris to be not little out of his mind, as he claims he is Santa Claus. Kris promises Dr Pierce to give him an X-ray machine, and doctor says he will believe Kris is a real Santa, if he gets one. Mr. Kringle takes his belongings and asks his friend, Jim the zookeeper to host him. While he walks in Central Park Kris sees a Christmas Parade, and a drunken Santa. Mrs. Walker, who is responsible for the personnel of the parade, asks Mr. Kringle to substitute Santa, and he agrees. When Doris Walker comes home she sees that her daughter Susan is watching the parade with their neighbor Fred, a young lawyer. She describes her problems with Santa Claus to them. Fred takes her away and tells she should not talk about Santa like that for not to disappoint Susan. Doris says girls should not have illusions, and should not wait for Prince Charming. Fred asks her to consider he may be the sort of person she needs. Doris answers that she has burnt her fingers once. V.
